About Peter Stahr

Biography

After completing his art studies in Braunschweig, Peter Stahr drew artistic inspiration from a variety of sources. He worked in painting, media art and web design, and also taught. Since 2021, he has devoted himself entirely to fine art and now works as a freelance artist in Göttingen, where he has made a name for himself with his large-format acrylic works. He prefers to use acrylics and mixed media on large canvases, combining pigments, dispersions, earth pigments and other materials to create multi-layered, profound works that straddle the line between abstraction and figuration. Peter Stahr’s art is more than a visual representation – it invites the viewer to pause, delve into the depths of their own memories and rediscover the emotional power of abstract landscapes. His works pay homage to the interplay between nature and emotion, to transience and permanence, and to the inexhaustible source of inspiration that is the human emotional world. His works speak from within; the storytelling of an artist who, with impressive ease, leaves the traditional boundaries of landscape painting behind. In Stahr’s works, reality and imagination merge into a powerful visual language that extends far beyond the visible. His compositions are not mere representations, but living transformations of reality; an invitation to perceive the world in all its complexity with fresh eyes and to embark on a sensory journey between reality and vision.
