  • Biography
I have lived in the New Forest for many years and I am passionate about the beauty of the surrounding countryside and coast. I spend many hours studying the wildlife and scenery and this has inspired my paintings. I played in the forest as a young child and I still enjoy spending time walking and fishing there today. I especially enjoy painting in the open air where I can capture the atmosphere and colour of the scenery. Throughout my life I have maintained an active role in the protection and conservation of the New Forest, so my extensive knowledge of the history and the geography of the area also inspires me to paint. I especially enjoy working in oil and belong to a small group of profession painters called the New Forest Painters; together we have published a book about the New Forest and meet up regularly to paint and we also have an annual exhibition in Brockenhurst. As a group of painters we also visit areas of interest throughout Britain to paint and capture it's beauty.
