About Michèle Paris

  • Biography
I am interested in the representation of human beings with different attitudes - in relation to animals, in this case with the bird. My work focuses on the expression, but the work of the materiality of the painting is important, the backgrounds are painted with great freedom. The color is essential, it takes its place. The movement is also there. The different textures make the characters very emotional.

During the past year, in a context of upheaval through our daily lives, I have preferred watercolor. Nature has become the core of my subjects for artworks: the landscapes of my region and in the series Scorched Earth, the environment is in danger. I paint in situ or from sketches made outdoors where I capture the essential lines and the dominant masses. Each landscape is interpreted so that the observer finds the necessary space to add their own vision and experience an emotion.
