About Masato Watanabe

Biography

My primary drive as an artist is to capture the quiet, transient beauty of light and shadow with structural precision. My background in architectural perspective drawing and game background design trained my eyes to deeply understand shapes, reflections, and perspective. Today, I bring that discipline into my watercolor paintings. For me, creating "highly detailed realistic watercolors" is a quiet, dedicated pursuit. When I paint a sunny alleyway or a historic building in Japan, I focus on capturing the true presence of the place. The rewarding challenge of blending exact realism with the delicate nature of watercolor is what keeps me painting every day. I wish to sell on Artfinder because it is a respected international platform known for connecting original art lovers with authentic craftsmanship. Over the past 10 years, I have independently sold and safely shipped more than 200 original paintings to collectors in over 20 countries with zero shipping mishaps. Having built this experience, I now want to share my work with a broader global audience. Artfinder’s curated gallery feels like the right place for my detailed watercolors. I hope to reach collectors who appreciate the time, care, and precision that goes into traditional Japanese landscapes and architectural scenes.
