About Lili A Phelouzat

Biography

I am a visual artist working primarily with drawing and painting, developing a geometric and abstract visual language in which structure, repetition and colour operate together. My work draws from architectural rhythms, patterned systems and natural forms, balancing precision with intuition. I have been active as an artist since the late 2000s, exhibiting in the UK and France and selling work internationally. Alongside my studio practice, I have also worked as a curator, organising and developing independent exhibition projects, including Project 2012. Over time, my practice has evolved from more expressive compositions toward a clearer, more structured approach. This evolution has included applied and collaborative projects. MIMAI Lazulite was a design partnership focused on glass surfaces, creating architectural and decorative pieces using traditional verre églomisé techniques, alongside further exploration of wall surfaces. I later developed Concrete Réflexion as a solo continuation of this research, translating the same visual language into smaller-scale works and objects, deepening my relationship with material, surface and scale. Today, my work continues to move between abstraction and representation, maintaining a strong graphic sensibility while remaining open to interpretation.
