Anastacia Kevich is a contemporary artist whose practice examines the relationship between personal identity and the social structures through which it is formed.

Her work considers how inherited values, prescribed roles and external expectations become embedded in our understanding of ourselves, and what it means to distinguish between an identity that has been constructed and one that is internally defined.

Materiality is central to this investigation. Kevich works with alcohol ink, textile, plaster, epoxy resin and metal leaf, bringing together materials with fundamentally different physical properties. Fluid, largely uncontrollable movement is placed in direct relation to constructed surfaces, rigid boundaries and sculptural form.

These material relationships are not decorative. They function as a means of examining tension between autonomy and conditioning. Rather than representing the subject figuratively, Kevich allows it to emerge through the physical interaction of materials — through resistance, interruption, containment and movement.

Her current body of work develops this inquiry through increasingly sculptural compositions in which painting, relief and object intersect. The surface becomes both an image and a physical structure, shifting the work beyond conventional abstraction toward a material exploration of identity and self-determination.

Kevich’s work has been presented internationally through exhibitions, publications and independent curatorial projects across the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
