Biography
Joyce Fournier is a prolific multidisciplinary painter and sculptor living and working in Toronto.
Art is Joyce's true passion, and she has had an extensive art practice for more than 25 years consisting of Abstract Works, Landscapes, Figurative Works, and Bronze Sculpture.
While her current focus is Abstract Expressionist painting, she also has a love for sculpting, painting, and drawing the human form for which she was academically trained at the Academy of Realist Art in Toronto.
Joyce would say that she has been most influenced by the Abstract Expressionist movement of post-World War II America such as the works of Robert Motherwell, Franz Kline, and Hans Hofmann as well as the works of Joan Mitchell and Canadian artist, Jean Albert McEwen.
Moving into art full time in 2007 after having had a successful career in healthcare, Joyce has exhibited her work in solo and group shows within Canada, the United States, and Europe. Featured on several occasions in American Art Collector magazine since 2009, her work is found in private collections in Canada and Internationally.
