About Joanna Plenzler

Biography

My name is Joanna Plenzler - I am a painter and a printmaker. I create paintings and prints inspired by nature, everyday life, and subtle emotions captured in colour and form. I started as a self-taught artist and in 2017, began my studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Silesia in Cieszyn, where I earned my degree in painting in 2020.

My works are held in private collections in the UK, the USA, Canada, Australia and many European countries, including Poland. Knowing that my art continues its life in the spaces of others is my greatest distinction.

Nature is my main source of inspiration - its rhythm, colours and moods. I often use my own photographs as a starting point for paintings and linocuts. In my artistic practice I explore different media, but my favourite one is acrylics.

The creative process is as important to me as the final outcome. I like experimenting with media -- exploring how different layers of paint or ink influence perception. In my linocuts I use the reduction method. With each stage of carving and printing the block is gradually destroyed, which makes every edition truly unique and impossible to reproduce.

Please note:

I dispatch orders by priority air mail, with a tracking number.

If possible I try to use recycled packaging rather than new. I am using cardboard from parcels that I have received, hoping it helps the environment a bit.

International deliveries may be subject to local customs duties and taxes, which vary from country to country and are applied when the order reaches its destination. They are payable by the customer. Please contact your local customs office for further information before placing your order.

Thank you!
