About James Earley

Biography

British artist James Earley defies conventional art world expectations with his provocative and uncompromising work. As a leading figure in Hyperrealism, he does not shy away from confronting uncomfortable truths – raising awareness of pressing issues like homelessness, mental health and war. His art is raw, a bestial scream against societal apathy, demanding attention and challenging viewers to see what the world often chooses to ignore. Through brutally honest representations, James seeks not just to depict reality but to expose it, fighting fiercely against the superficial and glamorous narratives that dominate contemporary art.
James is a self taught hyperrealism artist who paints people who live on the very edge of society. James has exhibited his work in London, New York, Madrid and Amsterdam and he has been described by both The Contemporary Art Magazine and the Kunst Heute Magazine as one of the most relevant artists in the world today. James was honoured to be awarded The First Prize at the prestigious London Biennale in 2019. In 2022 he was privileged to show his work at The Louvre in Paris and he had his first auction at Bonhams London. In 2023 James won the prestigious Velazquez International Art Award for painting and in 2024 he was honoured to win The American Contemporary Art Award.
