  • Flemings using abstraction imagery to investigate how the layering and interaction of color, shape, and line contribute to our interpretation of depth, movement and beauty. Often described as a colorist, her work is also about finding light. She uses paint, charcoal and wax pastels to create gorgeous images. Drawing from memories, moods and the paint combinations on her palette, she starts with a loose composition, which is covered, layered, removed, repainted and covered again, transforming the piece through many stages. Working through this searching process, Flemings creates multi-layered vistas reminiscent of things familiar.

Flemings has a BFA in graphic design and an MA in Sociology. Her studio is located in Austin, TX. Ann is committed to a life making and celebrating art and she invites you to follow her work and exhibition schedule on Facebook @AnnFlemingsArt and on Instagram @Ann_Flemings_Art
