About Ali Mackie

Biography

Elegant arrangements and a personal invitation

I’m a collector and creator of joyful colours, curious compositions and warm words drawn together with a BRIGHT point of view. My paintings weave together a story of work, home, and play. They feature treasured possessions of sentimental value elegantly arranged as separate entities within spacious compositions. The paintings are a personal invitation to explore these significant objects in detail.

Summer Exhibition

The Folde, 20 High Street, Amersham HP7 0DJ Amersham, England, HP7 0DG United Kingdom
Exhibiting in the Summer Exhibition at The Folde I’m thrilled to have a selection of my original paintings featured in the Summer Exhibition at The Folde in Old Amersham! This group show celebrates an incredible range of creative talent—bringing together bold contemporary works, expressive landscapes, and delicate still lifes from 14 fantastic artists (including Yoshie Fellowes-Murakami, Ben Molyneux, Moira Thompson, Sandy Herz, Suzanne Joan Parker, Katrin Martin, Ali Mackie, Gail Jones, Fiona White, Samantha Barnes, Sue Roche, Kana Holland, Robyn Tyers, and Vic Romer). If you're in the area, do drop by to explore the collection in person and immerse yourself in some wonderful summer art.
Event:
The Tender Future
Dates:
4 Jul 2026 - 26 Sep 2026
Venue:
Emerald Frames and Gallery, Workshop 1, Blay’s House Churchfield Road Chalfont St Peter SL9 9EW
Following a recent residency at Emerald Frames & Gallery in Chalfont St Peter, I’m delighted to return with a brand-new series of four 30cm mixed-media original paintings featured in their summer exhibition, The Tender Future. This collection explores a modern folk-art aesthetic—warm, optimistic, and full of story. Through a vibrant palette of ochre, teal, and coral, these pieces blend raw botanical observation with playful, stylised patterns and intuitive pencil marks. It's a joyful celebration of everyday magic built to bring a bright, characterful energy to any home. Original works from this showcase are available to purchase directly through the gallery in Chalfont St Peter.
