SO I WAS THINKING ABOUT KANDINSKY

A fantastic large statement piece, measuring 152 x 122 cm, oil painting on canvas, see the closeups for details of the texture of this stunning artwork. The edge of the painting is white all the way round, so the painting could be reduced to 150 cm x 120 cm, without loss of composition. This would enable your framers to use a standard size stretcher.

"I'm fascinated by colour, the juxtaposition of selected hues which allows the eye to create its own illusion. A technique employed by many of the pointillist and impressionist painters of the past. This keeps the image lively and absorbing."

The canvas was continually rotated in creation, this artwork may be displayed any way up, to suit your own interpretation!

Before painting I stretched the canvas over temporary studio wooden stretcher bars. The surface was then prepared with two coats of size, three coats of white oil gesso This is a rough surface, thick quality cotton canvas, so lots of great texture on the surface, not a flat painting.

The painting will be shipped rolled in a sturdy tube for safe arrival and will require re stretching before hanging. This is a simple and relatively inexpensive process at your local framers. You may wish to have the canvas shipped directly to your framers, please amend the address on your order..
