The second in my series of paintings based on Wildflower Meadows. The canvas has been lightly textured to enhance the "feel" of a wild and natural environment. The canvas is painted white on the sides. It is painted in acrylic, in an impressionistic style. I was very impressed and inspired by wildflower meadows on a recent holiday to Slovenia. Plus I had seen some fantastic ones in Switzerland a couple of years ago. I was utterly dismayed to learn that a huge 97% of natural wildflower meadows have been lost/destroyed/removed in the UK in the past 100 years. They are essential to pollinating insects. Therefore I am determined to help preserve them, and draw peoples attention to the beauty of them. So, as an artist, my first step is to paint them, and hope others appreciate how important they are in the environment....and how beautiful they are.
