The eyes fixed. On what? Is it a wild animal, maybe a cat or a fox? Some even recognize an owl.. It can be all of that. And it’s clearly on the hunt!
This painting was a great eye catcher at my last exhibition!

The large work of mixed media started as an abstract work. I was wildly splashing around paints and creating textures. But after so many layers I found something was looking at me…

Because the canvas was made of unprepared raw cotton I had to start with reinforcing it by glueing pieces of (wall-)paper on it and applying thick layers of gesso and plaster. This created a nice texture to work with. The painting also consists of many, many layers of acrylic paint.

For customers from countries bordering the Netherlands: The work is varnished for protection and an iron wire is attached to the back to make it ready to hang.
For costumers far away from the Netherlands: The painting will be shipped rolled up with the corresponding stretcher bars. Thus, upon arrival, the work will have to be re-stretched. This saves you a lot of shipping costs and is more environmentally friendly (less CO2). Unless you wish otherwise, of course. Then please send me a message via this platform and we will make new arrangements. (click the button: contact me)
