I wanted to portray a horse charging directly toward the viewer as a symbol of freedom, strength, and the vitality of life. By choosing a frontal composition, I created an immediate emotional connection between the viewer and the horse, allowing its determined spirit and powerful movement to take center stage. The simplified background dissolves into light and atmosphere, emphasizing the horse’s energy and celebrating the timeless beauty of motion and freedom.
I used expressive, rhythmic brushstrokes to capture the speed and strength of the galloping horse. Rich warm browns define its powerful anatomy, while the cool-toned background creates a striking visual contrast. Dry-brush textures, broken strokes, and subtle paint splatters suggest flying dust and rushing air, enhancing the sense of motion. By balancing refined details with loose, painterly edges, I combined realism with an impressionistic sense of energy and light.
