Original artwork description
On the way home from my last follow up appointment from reconstructive hip surgery, I pulled over to the side of the road at a place called Maple River Wildlife Area. I gathered up all my paints and portable easel, which is always in my car, and started walking. The mere gift of being able to walk pain free once again is a constant reminder of how blessed I truly am. The warm sun on my skin and the soft breeze across the marsh, another perfect day to be out painting. I climbed up on top of a duck blind and set up my easel and such. And I painted.
Wetlands is the result of that moment of private celebration. It holds in it gratefulness, joy and pure bliss. I walked, I climbed and it was pain free.
