This painting is based on a sketchbook study done while staying in Glen Prosen, one of the Angus Glens in Scotland. I have visited this part of Scotland many times and love the wildness of the landscape there. On this particular day I took my sketchbook and a small box of paints and set off down the road. The rain was around certainly but this was in a dry interval. A large flattish rock at the side of the road made a good perch and looking back up the road I saw this lovely subject. Unusually there was very little wind which made things easier! Since then I have painted various versions of this study using different colour palettes. I still find it inspiring.
The artwork is sold ready to hang in a contemporary pale wood frame with inner slip.
