Turners Paddock lake Sunset, Stourhead
Yellow and amber sky,
The cluster of dense Winter trees,
Covering an ancient hill fort,
It is where the source of the River Stour begins,
Beautiful reed beds that shimmer on the breeze,
Peaceful and special.

Turners Paddock looks directly to the south west and on the edge of Wiltshire.
A wet on wet sporadic washes were used in a four colour technique. Coating the paper with water in areas first using a small Chinese hake.
For the woodland effect I used a lot of application of deep colours going over the baseline and tipping the paper in a controlled way. It is always experimental creating in this method. Challenging and exciting as you never really know if it will work.
