Tubae (2025) Original Acrylic Painting by Zhana Viel

Original large painting of semi-abstract portraiture created in blue colors on deep edge unstretched canvas depicting a man playing the trumpet.

This surreal composition blends a human profile with a trumpet, symbolizing expression as an extension of the self. The elongated instrument emerging from the figure’s mouth suggests communication beyond words, while the floating hands hint at control, creativity, and collaboration.

Inspired by the idea that art and identity are intertwined, the piece invites viewers to reflect on how we express emotions and thoughts. The calm blue background creates a contemplative mood, balancing the unusual imagery.

Rendered in a textured, painterly style with a warm and cool color contrast, the work emphasizes symbolism over realism. Created with quality materials, its rich surface and subtle grain enhance its tactile, handcrafted feel.
