Tropical still life (2026) Original Mixed-media Painting by BAST

This contemporary fantasy painting is an unusual still life in which an ordinary breakfast transforms into a journey into a tropical world. Instead of coffee or tea, transparent turquoise water fills the cups, with children happily swimming in it. Exotic islands surrounded by azure tides, white sandy beaches, palm trees, and cozy oceanfront bungalows are reflected in the plates. Ordinary objects from an everyday table become portals into a world of sunshine, sea, and carefree holidays.
Perhaps we are looking at memories of a happy vacation — those moments when summer seemed endless and every day was filled with the sea, games, and joy. Or perhaps this artwork is about that special taste of life, when you want to fill an ordinary morning with a sense of celebration, freedom, and dreams. Here, the still life becomes a play of imagination, where reality gives way to fantasy and breakfast turns into a little journey.
Rich turquoise, blue, coral, and green tones intensify the feeling of a tropical morning. A fantasy still life, contemporary art, and a surreal story about the joy of life, where food and drinks are replaced by the ocean, islands, and happy moments. Is it an ordinary breakfast — or an entire world we would love to experience all over again?
The painting is especially striking in modern, eclectic, Mediterranean, or resort-style interiors, bringing color, energy, and a feeling of endless summer into the space.
