I was inspired by the extravagant personality of tropical birds and their almost unbelievable combinations of colour and form. Here, the hornbill becomes more than a wildlife portrait , I wanted it to feel like a lively character emerging from a spontaneous explosion of paint.

Deep cobalt and navy tones give the bird a strong graphic presence, while hot pink, turquoise, orange and luminous yellow create a joyful sense of movement around it. Loose digital brushstrokes, energetic lines and impasto-inspired details give the surface a painterly quality, balancing abstraction with the instantly recognisable silhouette of an exotic bird.

I particularly love the oversized beak and striking eye: they give the composition its playful confidence. At 40 × 40 cm, the square format works beautifully as a colorful focal point in a contemporary living space, bedroom or creative interior.
