Artwork description:

Spring is here, and I'm dreaming of a tropical vacation. Hawaii would be great! French Polynesia? Sure! I love those flowers. I put a few of my favorites into this linocut because I'm just going to have to make my own tropical flowers. I drew some yellow calla lilies, a bird of paradise, and some heliconia! Phew! I think I need to make a banana plant!!

I drew the image onto linoleum, cut out the negative space, printed it in black ink, and colored it in with watercolor and gouache!

Materials used:

linoleum, carving tools, printing paper and ink, watercolor and gouache
