I was captivated by the trees that were lit up by the morning sun. The leaves were transformed with their yellow, gold, orange, colors that were complemented by the violets and pinks. I was painting on location in Tower Grove Park in St Louis. I liked the painting then but decided I could improve it in the studio so that is what I did.
