Original artwork description
This work was created during reflections on motherhood and parenthood in general, on this brief period of time and the moments we meaningfully share with our children. It is also a slight reference to my own childhood memories, where what mattered most was direct contact, parental and maternal embraces, carefreeness, and a sense of dreaming - of being safe, protected, and of summer still being ahead. This is a very important feeling.
I often work with the theme of motherhood, as it is not about depicting specific people, but rather about a state of being.
I used canvas and oil paints, and there is also a bit of monotype and oil stick, because I like how a delicate line can interact with a stain or a broader mark/shape.
Materials used:
oil, oil pastel, pencil
Details:
- Mixed-media painting on Canvas
- One of a kind artwork
- Size: 60 x 60 x 1.5cm
- Signed on the back
- Style: Unspecified
- Subject: People and portraits
