A delicate peony seems to emerge from a veil of light, its translucent petals revealing subtle layers of white, lavender, blush and warm earthy tones. At the heart of the flower, tiny touches of red and gold create the impression of a precious dewdrop catching the first rays of morning light.
The circular composition enhances the feeling of harmony and wholeness, while the shimmering golden border gives the work a contemporary decorative character. I wanted to capture that fleeting moment when a flower feels almost weightless — as if illuminated from within.
