This image was inspired by countless contemporary urban nighttime photographers, most prominently accomplished cinematographer Dion Beebe and his collaborations with venerable TV and film writer/director Michael Mann. I hope the image conveys what prowling around downtown Los Angeles feels like at night, the thickness of the atmosphere, and the overwhelming amount of sensory inputs wherever one looks.... I chose digital medium format for this image for the frame size and color depth.
