I am leaf from a tree. I am the autumn. I am the beginning and the end. I'm birth and death. I am easy. I'm flying. I'm spinning. I do not think about tomorrow and do not remember yesterday. I'm flying. I'm just a leaf from a tree.
The work is perceived as a concentrated, almost meditative ‘peering’ into the form. The circular composition, with its warm, pulsating palette—ranging from ochre to rich orange-reds—evokes simultaneously a cross-section of a fruit, an organic structure, and a kind of inner ‘centre’. The inclusion of a real leaf at the centre reinforces the sense of authenticity and vulnerability: this is not a depiction of life, but its direct presence within the pictorial environment. The leaf becomes a focal point, an anchor of reality within the fluid, almost liquid space of paint. An association arises with the preservation, the ‘canning’ of a moment or a natural fragment within the artistic field.
