Original artwork description:

Hand-painted on a large 100 x 100 cm canvas, this painting was created with the image of a warm, hopeful sun setting on a mild Spring evening as the tides recede. I achieved a bright, bold palette of colours and saturation by painting layers of high density colours, overlapping in very thin layers of oil paint. I used a muted scaled palette on the beginning stages of this painting, using a high-chromatic palette during the later stages to highlight the bright bold colours. This painting consists primarily of shades of cobalt blue, cerulean blue, warm yellows, whites, oranges, pinks, mid-tone purples, dark browns and magenta tones. Canvas sides have been left white.
