Original artwork description:

I was inspired to draw this slightly morbid little piece after a recent trip to Paris. It's a habit of mine to visit cemeteries whenever I visit a really old city. It's a place you can usually find the most quiet the most greenery and ironically the most life.

This gentleman wasn't quite so lively as the various stray cats and birds I saw whilst wandering, however his likeness rendered in bronze a top his marble tomb was too beautiful not to draw.

So here we are, an A4 acrylic, watercolour and fine liner piece, with a splash of red thanks to the wonderful tulips at Lacroix Laval, a country park just outside of Lyon.

250gsm acid-free paper.

Materials used:

Acrylic, pen and watercolour on 250gsm paper
