Artwork description
THE TURNING SEA is part of my "LIMINAL" series, which focuses on the subtle balance that exists in transition — that sudden shift over the sea from calm to storm.
I work with this threshold as a space of tension and suspension, where the image holds both stillness and movement at once.
The vertical composition allows sky and water to unfold in layered bands, with the horizon acting as a fragile point of passage rather than a stable division.
In the chromatic field, muted greys, deep blue-greens, and softened ivory tones create a restrained atmosphere, while the blurred surface and diffused light preserve the sense of an unstable equilibrium.
The work stands in that fleeting moment where the sea remains uncertain, poised between serenity and upheaval — yet within that passage, I also sense a quiet vital energy, a force that keeps moving beneath the surface, carrying the image toward renewal.
