- The Sandbeds, Otley
Original artwork description
This scene is from the river Wharfe just outside of my hometown of Otley. Here the river slows and widens into a deep, reflective space, where the willows are replicated almost perfectly in the water. It was an incredibly hot day but down by the water's edge, it was cool and quiet.
I love willow trees and adore painting them, trying to capture their mass and form. I also love reflections and the two together make an irresistible scene.
Materials used:
Oil paint, walnut oil
Details:
- Oil painting on Canvas
- One of a kind artwork
- Size: 80 x 60 x 5cm (unframed)
- Signed on the front
- Style: Impressionistic
- Subject: Landscapes, sea and sky
