Original artwork description
After Performance is part of my new Ballerina Behind the scenes Series . I was lucky to see Ballet rehearsal in Palermo in great Teatro Massimo last year . I couldn't take the pictures but the memory of lingering backlight on ballerinas kept me hounting since then. This painting captures the ballerina just after the performance. Her feets are sore, her breath is taken , her dress dances around her as the last glimpse of her dance. Her face rests on her arm and is calm as she tries to come back from her latest performance. The red light is still on, the dancers on the stage are still performing , but for her is over for today.
