The peaceful wood
The dusky amber glow,
Subtle and mysterious,
Will I see a deer,
Winter to early Spring,
Taking in this moment of natural beauty.

Words and feelings of being so grateful each day in the wilds of my local woodland on the outskirts of Shaftesbury, North Dorset.
Original expressive watercolour on rough textured watercolour paper Saunders Waterford 300gsm 140lb.
I used a wet on wet technique for the background washes and while the paper was wet I mark marked and dragged the paint up and downwards over the light. This crested soft lines and depth for the trees. I then scratched out some of the paint for the bark effect. Not over doing it just suggestive and also with a dry small filbert brush I rubbed the pigments when the watercolour was dry. A three colour technique was used in this painting.
Signed on the front and back of artwork.
Certificate of authenticity.
Includes a personal poem by the artist.
