This piece is inspired by Anne Boleyn, Henry VIII's second wife. I have always been drawn to her tragic story. She is one of my favorite historic queens. I took inspiration from her white falcon badge and have included a white falcon, as well as Tudor red and white roses. Her famous necklace is also about her neck, an unmistakable symbol of who this portrait represents. She is draped in fur, a nod to Hans Holbein's famous sketch of Anne.
