Original artwork description:

The Last of Summer is a small (8 x 8") oil painting on gesso panel.
By the end of August the fields around my home village are littered with these wonderful hay rolls, symbolising the end of summer.
Christopher Witchall's Landscape paintings capture the light and atmosphere of the Cambridgeshire fens where he has lived, explored, painted and photographed for 30 years.
His unsentimental approach to landscape combine traditional painting techniques with the realism and cool detachment of photography.
Sold unframed.

Materials used:

Oil painting on gesso panel.
