The Famous Spanish fritillary (2025) Original Oil Painting by Anne Zamo

Spanish fritillary (Euphydryas desfontainii) is a rare butterfly, endangered in France, where it is the subject of a national action plan.
It is not easy to see and can be easily confused with the marsh fritillary (Euphydryas aurinia) which is also protected. The conservation measures put in place appear to be bearing fruit, but the species remains fragile.

Anne Zamo seeks to share the beauty and daily wonders surrounding us and that we do not always know how to look at, to make us dream by being inspired by nature, or emotions that she feels: butterflies, insects, flowers, animals, or even landscapes are all subjects that she sublimates to transmit her wonderment.
