This is an oil painting in the series WOMEN IN LOVE. All women in this series are strong, beautiful women. Their strength comes from within and love makes them beautiful inside and out.

This particular painting is a master copy after Arthur Hacker's painting 'The Cloud', exhibited for the first time in 1901. Apparently, when it was shown, Shelley's poem entitled 'The Cloud' was presented beside the painting. Hacker, besides being an accomplished painter (studied at the Royal Academy and then in Paris under Bonnat), he often used symbols and allegories in his paintings. I feel 'The Cloud' to be a visual feast but with deeper meanings that go beyond the visual.

The reason I chose to do a master copy after this painting is the fact that is one of my favorite paintings of all times, it contains all the ingredients that I am looking for in a figurative work: the subtle curvatures of the female body, sensual yet tasteful, the way in which symbolism is incorporated in the artwork. Pondering in front of such a masterpiece helps me, at times, solve problems in my own painting. I learned just as much from painting from nature as I do when doing a study after an old master.

While I have made every effort to ensure the photographs represent the true colors in the paintings I cannot guarantee an exact match. The colors will also display differently depending on the type of screen you are viewing them on.

Paintings are very carefully packed in cardboard boxes / reinforced envelopes, with layers of bubble wrap to protect them to ensure the painting will reach you safely.
