Original artwork description
"Tawny Owl" Original Watercolour Painting. 61 x45 cm Painting on Arches watercolour paper.
I am a big outdoor enthusiast, recreationist and advocate and that's what inspires most my paintings. When I was young, I just kind of saturated myself with it as the years went on. Growing up on the countryside, I remember filling my notebooks with anything nature related and even to this day, I love collecting natural objects when i'm out and about enjoying the fresh air and using them to either paint my next subject or make a gnome/fairy houses for my son. It is a great way to find craft materials and get inspired to paint something new.
My ultimate goal of using wildlife to paint/sketch is to convey the importance of conserving wildlife and the habitat it needs to survive. I believe that as a visual artist, I have a real opportunity to make a difference in the world.
