I never tire of walking, observing, sketching and painting the ever changing light and mood across Morecambe Bay - on the doorstep of my studio and home. Having been able to travel and visit many countries in the world this is my favourite place to be!

I have wanted to develop a series of SUNSETS for a while and a series of walks over the rocks in early evening with the light shimmering over the low tides gave me an opportunity to start. This painting is one of a small sub-group of what was X6 small paintings of dramatic sunsets over Morecambe Bay on the coast at Silverdale on the Lancashire/ Cumbria border - and sit within a growing series of sunsets across the bay which also borrow from previous walks and working trips in Scotland.

These paintings are complete with a beautiful, bold and chunky, hand-painted graphite grey deep, scooped dark frame that really shows off the colours - leading the eye into the work. Signed by me on the front - and all labelled on the reverse they are ready to hang.
