Sunset Magic Hour At the Lake Original Oil Painting by Tatyana Fogarty

My favorite starting point for the landscape painting is the golden light of late afternoon, known as the “magic hour”, which creates the most intriguing and fascinating effects by merging captivating shadow patterns and warm, luminous color of the setting sun, emphasized by the reflections of the sky illuminated by gorgeous sunset in the water below.

Materials used to create this artwork:
Oil on oil-primed stretched Centurion DLX linen canvas. The linen is oil primed for the most brilliant results with oil paint. The medium weight all-purpose weave linen has a beautiful surface texture, and is stretched on heavy duty pine bars.
Painting surface is protected with a coat of Gamvar varnish. The painting is unframed, wired in the back on the stretcher-bars and ready to hang without a frame. Otherwise, it can be framed if preferred.
