I was inspired to paint this scene near the Picasso Museum in Antibes, with the whitewashed houses in the bright sunlight, framed by the succulent plants and palm trees in the park. I visited the area while staying in Nice and strolled through the picturesque old town and harbour sketching and taking photographs.
