Original artwork description
Storm Coming (2025)
“There is a specific vibration in the air just before a storm. The engine in my head feels it long before the first drop of rain. This painting is that vibration caught on linen.”
The Monumental Scale: Standing at 200 cm tall, Storm Coming is an immersive experience. It represents a "fragmentary art" approach—taking a narrow, vertical slice of a brewing tempest and stretching it into a vertical panorama. This creates a rhythmic series of horizontal horizons that shift from deep, bruised blues to the pale, electric greys of an overcast sky.
The Musical Riddle: The title is a direct reference to the "sonic diary" of my studio. It hides a connection to a specific song or a lyrical fragment that fueled the tension of this piece. I invite you to find the track that mirrors this atmospheric weight; only when the sound meets the vision is the true synergy of the Blinkered series unlocked.
Texture of Anticipation: As an artist with ADHD and autism, I use painting to regulate my sensory world. To capture the raw energy of a storm, I apply dozens of layers of acrylic paint using unconventional DIY tools—sponges and rags. This process reveals a "kaleidoscopic magic" of pigments that flicker beneath the surface, bringing a powerful yet meditative presence to any large-scale contemporary interior.
