“Spring Lace in an Old Tureen”

This still life was painted from life using the classical multi-layer watercolor technique.

I began by painting the most important element of the composition — the hyacinths — and admired their beauty. Their fragrance was so intense that I felt almost dizzy while painting them.

After that, I created the surroundings for the flowers. I found the tureen, which matched the style and color palette of my idea, at a flea market in Jaffa. The glass is a modern one, and the daffodils bloomed later.

This is how the still life was created, with contrasting colors that I managed to bring into harmony.
