Original artwork description
I love the wild places in the Lake District and while the crowds flock to the honeypots of Windermere and Ambleside, I head off to the high fells in search of solitude. Two years ago I finally finished walking the 'Wainwrights'. This led me to some relatively unexplored areas of this beautiful place. I find most joy in the distant hills, far away from towns.
This scene is from my imagination, not a real place, but sums up the feeling of solitude and peace that I find in a grey Lakeland landscape - fells, tarns and wild skies. I've added a farmhouse as a symbol of home and belonging.
This is acrylic on canvas-covered board. Some texture on the hills and dry stone walls. It comes framed and ready to hang.
Measurements are 58cm x 28cm x 2.5cm (framed).
Signed on the back and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity. Please let me know if you'd like it signed on the front too.
