In "Small Bridge over the Canal", Antonino Puliafico explores architecture, urban rhythm and shifting light in an original oil painting on canvas. Measuring 80 × 110 cm and dated 2025, the work balances immediate visual impact with close-range surface detail.
The painting develops through palette knife and impasto, allowing the physical texture of the paint to remain central to the image.
In “Small Bridge over the Canal,” Antonino Puliafico invites the viewer into a peaceful woodland scene where foliage gently arches overhead, framing a subtle bridge in the distance. Thick strokes of oil paint, applied with a palette knife, layer one upon another to form a dappled canopy of greens and soft neutrals.
