The human being is at the heart of my work. My paintings explore the figure in all its facets, capturing inner states through posture, gesture, and movement. I aim to convey the intended emotional resonance directly to the viewer.
I focus on the body not as identity, but as material. Flesh, mass, pressure, and surface create physical presence, while figures often appear fragmented, compressed, or distorted. Through layering, overpainting, and correction, the body becomes unstable, existing between figuration and abstraction.
Materiality is central to my practice. I work primarily in oil, leaving traces of drawing and brushwork visible, and exploring color, texture, and composition.
My current series, Fragments of Pressure, examines the tension between intimacy and weight: the body as something that cannot be fully contained — a condensation of presence, mass, and inner life.
