Siwa after the rain (2026) Original Watercolour by Olga Onopko

This work was painted from life at an international symposium in Siwa – a fascinating place near the border between Egypt and Libya. The area is renowned for its beautiful landscapes: green, blossoming oases in the midst of a vast desert and blue salt lakes. This is my second symposium in Siwa, held in 2026. The weather changed dramatically, ranging from bright sunshine to heavy downpours. This is a series of five works, each measuring 20–30 cm. In some, you can see puddles and a grey sky; in others, rays of light illuminate exotic buildings. The works can be purchased as a series or individually. Watercolour, coloured pencils and white gouache on watercolour paper. This work is part of a series and is entitled ‘Siwa after the Rain’ The price is for one painting.
