Silent Heritage (2023) Original Acrylic Painting by Gela MIKAVA

90 x 120 x 3cm (unframed)

£2,217.13

Silent Heritage is a contemporary figurative painting from the *ROOTS* series, inspired by Georgian and Caucasian cultural heritage.

A solitary female figure appears in traditional dress, rendered in a restrained palette of white, grey and black. Her elongated silhouette, flowing garment and long braids create a quiet, almost timeless presence.

Rather than depicting traditional clothing in a purely historical way, the artist transforms elements of Georgian and Caucasian dress into a contemporary visual language. The work explores cultural memory, identity, ancestry and the connection between past and present.

The minimal composition and subtle traces of paint contrast with the strong graphic lines of the figure, giving the painting both delicacy and monumentality.

Original artwork, 90 × 120 cm.

Materials used:

Acrylic and oil on linen canvas
