I grew up on the South coast of England and used to windsurf and sail with my Father. When I wasn't on the water I would always be beachcombing for shells, pebbles and driftwood which I've always collected.
This artwork is inspired by those times by the sea
I make each element three dimensional by moulding each one using pulped watercolour paper.
Each pebble is hand moulded and coloured with watercolour, and striped with white acrylic. Each pebble is mounted on a tiny foam-board plinth and arrange in colour lines to form the whole piece.
If you are interested in commissioning a piece I can make the pebbles in any colour combination and the size to your liking so please message me if you would like to discuss your requirements.
Watercolours and metallic watercolours, moulded watercolour paper, foam board, in a deep box frame glazed with Perspex
