This painting was inspired on a walk near Stratford City, London. There is a crossroads near the old boundary stone marking the city limits, with a building which was formerly a bank. It's now a betting shop. I'm interested in the history of an area, and how the layers of the past are visible. I have isolated the building in the painting to increase the focus, and the colours might reference a dream like place, and also the past.
